Forever young asked: I Put a post-it-note on my dashboard at what miles to change oil, and I always stay within a hundred miles, every early spring, and late fall, I do a thorough clean up, clean the windows, and a tuneup.
Pedro s, excuse me if I didn’t give you a thorough and complete breakdown on the maintenence I do on my car! Yes I know there is alot more than just changing oil.
Wake up and smell your sox, gingersnap!

theres more to regular car maintance than oil changes…
tune up every 50,000 km in our country
In addition to your post it note you need to follow the recommendations in your owners manual maintenance schedule and add this to you note as necessary.
HAHAH i wish i could change my oil only twice a yr!
try once a month!
That’s a good idea – the sticky note – but I wouldn’t think that you have to be so precise as to “within a hundred miles.”
Regular maintenance isn’t all that difficult, and it sure beats the heck out of the cost of a major repair – or the inconvenience of a breakdown.
my 06 acura has a maintenance minder. It gives you the oil life and also lets you know when service is due and what service needs to be done. The dealer also puts a sticker on the front windshield reminding when a oil change is due.
i keep an eye on everything about my car. good for you!, alot of people think as long as the wheels move, its ok. i check all my fluid about every week, i check the front end and brakes on the front end and back 2 times a year. i change the oil and filter twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. twice a year, i go from bumper to bumper.
Yes I do, I follow the maintenance schedule for my car and do preventative maintenance as well as check out things to make sure they aren’t wearing faster than normal.
If you don’t take care of your car you’re daring it to breakdown on you.
