Does anyone know where I can find the blue prints for a small, electric engine? The type used in cars though?

A small electric engine would not be capable of powering a car. You would need at least a 50 HP (37 kW) motor to power even a very small car.

Sorry I can’t help you with the blueprint, but just appreciate what kind of motor you would be getting yourself into.

there is no such thing as an electric engine, its an electric motor. It would cost several hundred thousand to make on from blue prints because you’d have set up all the tools to make each part and wind the wire exactly.

I assume you are interested in probably converting your car. A motor will cost you anywhere from $1000-$4000 depending on the HP etc…

You will also need many other parts like a controller to maintain the power needed for to turn the wheels, the wires, racks, batteries… and so on…

Find an electric motor repair shop near you. Go there and ask if they have any old DC motors that they want to get rid of. I got two 90 volt motors this way. You can take them apart to see how they work.

It is certainly possible to build your own electric motor, and no, it wouldn’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. That is stupid, sorry. If you were going into electric motor manufacturing, sure, but not to custom-build one motor.

Also, look up electric motors in Wikipedia. They have some good descriptions of the different types and how they work.
