Fees associated with buying a car out side of New York?

djverne2002 asked: I was wondering what fees are associated with buying a car out side of sate if you live in New York. Do I have to pay taxes on the car or can I avoid them some how?

you have to pay new york taxes when you license the car. They will not give you tags until you prove to them you have paid the tax.
