I'd say not bad bec rotors are about 30.00 to 40.00on avg, pads are about 30.00 , labour for that would be about 80.00 to120.00 , struts are usually rebuilt and don't include the springs but usually cost about 80.00 or more a piece, that labour should be about 1.5 to 2 hrs tops and about 120.00 to180.00tops.
So yes it's a fair or actually good price if you ask me.

Hope that helps and best of luck, by the way make sure the pads aren't lowest grade , use at least a mid grade pad and if I was you I'd ask for the lifetime warranty pads bec their not much more in cost and well worth it if you plan on keeping the car for awhile.Plus they save wear and tear on the rotors and help the car brake better and faster too.

Struts-aprox. $60 (at any auto parts store)
Brake pads-aprox $20-$30 (auto parts store depending on quality)
Rotors- aprox. $30-$60(auto parts store)
Having someone do it professionally and getting the job done right...$425
Doing it yourself parts-aprox.$200 + tools + free labor and assuming you know how to do the job......priceless

lol sorry had to be funny with this one although the prices are about average that i gave. good luck : )

Struts cost about $60 each. Front pads $12-$60 depending on quality. Turn rotors $12 for both. New rotors $15-$60 each depending on quality. Time to do front brakes 30 minutes. Rear struts about 45 minutes of actual work if you have to change the coils over.

For a quote that doesn't sound bad, but that's just a quote. Hard to say what the'll make you think they found when they do it to jack it up to $800 or more.

There is about $250-$300 in parts, and the rest for labor. This is very reasonable

It's a good idea
If it is a reputable company, it could be a very good way to get a car. They usually maintain their vehicles impeccably, and it results in very dependable cars, regardless of the mileage.

It's a bad idea
I have to disagree with Tim on this one. This is rare as I notice his posts and always agree with him. IMHO a rental is a bad idea. Yes they do maintain these vehicles very well and perform all scheduled maintenance as required. The problem is that these vehicles are driven very hard. People rent them and drive the %$@# out of them. I personally would never buy a rental or a leased vehicle, sometimes called a program vehicle.

It's a bad idea, redux
Not only are the vehicles driven hard, they don't have a conventional break-in. Every driver has different habits, and a car driven by mainly one person will eventually break in mechanically and actually function "better than new." When vehicles are driven by many divers, that normal break-in adjustment never occurs.

not bad, you could do it yourself cheaper, but it is dirty and difficult, if you don't do that sort of thing often.
