Batteries that they hold are terrible for the environment
Very small, bad crashes
Do not last very long
only commuter car
Although, GM has the tahoe and escalade SUV hybrids that are great, and ford has the escape hybrid, which get 34mpg
dont know if you have ever watched the show top gear but they compared the prius to a range rover, well the prius only get 17 mpg on freeway which sucks but thats not what its built for, they also noted that the batteries used to power the car are very hard to dispose of and they say in the long run it is more eco friendly to drive a range rover instead of a pruis, of course their opinion is extremly one sided because they’re gear heads and love power, but if they are right; i find that quite funny, the car thats saving the world will one day ruin it with its fancy batteries!!
There are no advantages.
Disadvantages…
1. The batteries cannot be recycled. The lithium content of those batteries is known to cause birth defects such as failure to thrive and twisted limbs.
2. They are disposable throw away cars. The batteries lifespan is 100k miles or 5 years. The cost to replace the battery is MORE than an ENTIRE engine.. so they are all very likely to be junked when the battery goes bad.
