Cure for your blonde addiction asked: I know they have bull sh!* fees that they sneak in the contract like the “cleaning fee” or car preparation and so on. What are some more fees that car dealerships sneak in??

-Administration fee ( so you’re paying some ridiculous amount for a clerk to file your contract in a cabinet? )
-Flat rate fuel charge ( which I found funny when I bought my last car because the flat rate was more fuel than the tank could hold )
The Dealers do sneak in all kinds of fees. But here’s a list of fees you do have to pay.
1. Destination Fee
2. Documentation Fee – Depends on your State. You can negotiate its value.
3. Dealer Advt Network Fee – Yes you have to pay for the Acvt cost.
4. Dealer IMR fee – Could be called differently.
Best of all, here’s a article from Edmunds.com on complete list of Leagal Fees & phoney Fees.
I usually force the dealer to charge the Documentation fee as low as possible. For some states its Fixed Value. Ex. Ohio has it at $250. It is legally mandated.
Good Luck.
The main hidden fee is… definetly – insurance.
