I think you want to ask this question in the Yahoo USA Answers system. When you buy a car in this area you generally have to pay sales tax based on where you live and also any registration fees (“tags”) based on where you live.
MD fees are 6 % tax, $23 for title, $128 for new registration if it is a car, $20 if it has a lien. Most places are roughly the same on tax, title, but MD registration is higher. You pay annual property taxes in VA in addition to your sales tax.
