I used to live in IN and now I live in Ohio. Insurance is about the same in both states just depending on the area you live in. Plates in IN are insane also! Ohio BMV rocks!
I have State Farm (for 20 years)
I pay $38 a month for my `02 Taurus and $48 a month for my `86 Reliant. ten year accident free full 40% discount with the Taurus and only a 30% discount for the Reliant as I was his 5 years ago.
oh tags are $50 every TWO years in OREGON.
PUERTO RICO U PAY 126.00 A YEAR AND U GET INSURANCE AND PLATES… CHECK TITAN, GRANGE, CITIZANS,
Cheapest states for car insurance is Florida, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The minimum requirements are only 10k/20k/10k. Ohio is 12.5k/25k/7.5k. Now as far as the car plates, I dunno. LOL Hope that sorta helped. =]
And you think Michigan’s insurance is insane? Kentucky adds a municipal tax and state tax on top of your policy. Which makes your coverage cost $100-$200+ more! It mostly depends on your age of course.
Michigan has some touch insurance laws which is part of then reason the rates are so high. Each state regulates insurance rates- it isn’t up to the insurer their rating system must be approved.
I seem to recall Oregon being pretty cheap when I worked for that big insurer that starts with a P. (don’t want to get in trouble here)
