What’s the best way to research before buying a new car?

Jen asked: I’m trying to decide what car I should buy. I’m looking up different ones online and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed! I want to make an informed purchase and ensure I don’t get ripped off, but I don’t feel like the research I’ve done has helped at all. What’s a good way to approach this.

I don’t need help with financing or anything else, I’m just trying to decide which car to buy. Thanks!!

buy a magazine of CONSUMER REPORTS… it will help you find out which car is of better quality overall.

Pick up a copy of “consumer reports” magazine You may have to subscribe to get it.They publish a issue that evaluates all the new cars OBJECTIVELY as they don’t accept any advertising.Either that or talk to friends or co-workers about how they like what they drive.

    msncars.com
Read the consumer reviews! Good info there from people who drive the cars you would be interested in.

Also, try edmunds.com. besides Consumer Reports. Good info.

try . Enter the info of the car(s) you are thinking about purchasing and it will tell you all the pros and con of the vehicle. The site also gives you an idea of what certain repairs will cost. If you are not a shy person you could ask people who are driving the vehicles what they think of them.

As a sales consultant at a dealership, call other dealerships and get a quote. See which one gives you the better deal. If you are a costco member, that helps too. Edmunds.com has true market value. The best car for the money I think is the infiniti, but this is your decision. Drive them, touch them and which ever car you like the best is gonna be the best car. That’s why there are many manufactures.

The three most important aspects of a vehicle purchace are Knowledge, Preparation, and Application. Doing the research (as you are) is the starting place to gain the Knowledge you need. The next step is Preparaing that Knowledge in a workable format (a plan) and then Applying that plan to the purchase. You are on the right track, just keep going.
