When buying a used car from a dealer are they supposed to provide current auto registration?

JC asked: I just bought a used car from a Toyota dealership and noticed that the tags on the license plate are expired. Are they supposed to provide current tags for the vehicle registration? Shouldn’t any vehicle have current tags especially ones for sale at dealerships? Any information would be great. Thanks.

It is the buyers responsibility to pay the registration fee not the seller.
If you bought it from a dealer the license should be added to the cost and they should issue you a paper tag until the regular ones come.
