Joe asked: I’m having trouble on deciding on which is a better choice on buying a new or used car. What are the pros and cons, and if you buy a used car, do you get it from a dealer or a friend?

I usually go for a low milage (25K or less) used car that still has the warrenty on it. I can’t bring myself to buy a new car when the value drops 35% after it leaves the lot.
…………… if it is the matter of choice ……………… choose the best …….. that is new ……………….. however if you know someone close enough who is selling a ……….. good used car go for it ……………… it will save money …………… from dealer it is potluck …………. if he tells you the truth ………….. each used car seat has been sat and door opened and closed that many times ……………
I never buy new because I can’t justify giving sevral thousand dollars away for nothing.I am mechanically inclined so minor repairs are not a problem for me.The most I ever spent on a car is 7000.00,and that seemed like a lot to me.I buy from dealers ,newspaper, craigslist, friends, ect.
I like older cars better…. don’t cost as much as new ones, so you can basically buy more for your money….. can be just as reliable as a new one if you look after it properly & check it over properly when buying it…… some of the “Classic” older cars are more stylish and have more character than modern cars…. and if they do breakdown on you, you can usually fix them yourself (often with just a few spanners + a can of WD-40) without worrying about blowing-up some rather expensive electronic components.
And of course Newer cars lose their value by 100′s / 1000′s quicker than you believe (unless there’s a long waiting list for it due to popularity).
