All four have the same agenda: sell you the most service they possibly can for your vehicle. They are out for profit. The mangers receive bonuses based on gross profit. The technicians are flat rate and are paid for what they do only. The techs have to look for everything they can to stay busy. They will try to sell you transmission flushes, coolant flushes, induction cleanings you name it. I'm not saying the four listed aren't good. They are as good as the techs they have working for them. I have seen allot of good techs at those shops and some that couldn't fix a shopping cart. I think the best technicians are local shops with the mechanics name over the door. He is trying to compete with the big boys and has a name to protect.

None of the above. Go to a neighborhood mechanic that someone you know recommends. They tend to care about you and your car, because they want you back.

All your chain repair shops are worked by people who get paid either way, so if you're satisfied or not, they don't care, if you come back or not, they don't care. And most of them are young, fresh out of school, if they went to school.

If I were you, I would buy a Haynes car repair manual and learn to do it yourself, since who else but you would care as much for the car?
