Because you will need to install the solar panel there in the future
It adds a lot more weight. Weight is not a good friend of MPG.
People who buy hybrid cars are anal retentive, politically correct types who are allergic to fun, so moon roofs and convertibles are a no-no.
Hybrids really are a fraud. If a hybrid Prius had the same stuff in it as a Corolla “S”, it would get less miles per gallon than the Corolla.
Hybrid waste is not in gas. It’s in the manufacture of the battery materials and in the recycling of the batteries. F>>R>>A>>U>>D.
why does it need a moonroof?
They do, you’re just looking in the wrong place. They’re called “sunroofs” if they go back. So if you’re using autotrader or something that terminology may hamper your search.
There are a lot more things about hybrids than most people know. For example, the Prius has a drag coefficient of .26 ! That is the lowest of all manufactured cars, and lower than racecars! Adding a sunroof, would increase that number.
Also, the cars are UV insulated to keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. This is because most hybrids use electric A.C. and Heaters. This is the other reason that they do not install sunroofs.
But aftermarket sunroofs can be installed for around $500.
PS… Reverand, you’re an idiot. “If a hybrid Prius had the same stuff in it as a Corolla “S”, it would get less miles per gallon than the Corolla.” ? ? ? …duh… it’s a bigger car
The Corolla S will have the same stuff in it as the Prius within the next 5 years.
